Day 29 - Collaboration

On Wednesdays, I dedicate my night to work on Buttermilk, another project of mine. Quick context: It's a platform to discover, showcase, and support local artists in Malaysia. I launched it in October last year and have since then made quite a lot of iterations.
These days, I'm only doing maintenance work, i.e. updating the site with new batches of artists and making tweaks here and there on the site.
My biggest plan next is to collaborate with local artists and other creative outlets. A few people reached out who are interested in collaborating and even myself I've reached out to a few others too. But nothing is set in stone yet, mainly for two reasons:
  1. The time isn't right yet. I want to focus on finishing up vsjo.xyz first. Some of them are also busy at the moment.
  1. I don't have good ideas on how to approach collaborations, and I don't want to be the person who expects the other person to come up with the ideas.
On point no.2, I'm most likely overthinking things. I have a few ideas already, but I haven't fleshed them out properly. And yes it's always better to present and outline an idea you have in mind first before approaching someone - to give the person more the reason to collaborate with you.
A few friends have shared their thoughts about it and are pretty aligned with how a collaboration should work:
