Most weekdays I'm out working in a co-working space from morning until the afternoon. As much as I like spending time working at home with my SO, I still value my alone time.
The drive takes about half an hour so I get to listen to my podcast (NADDPOD). I also do more productive work outside where there are other people with the same goal. I eat my lunch by myself, also listening to my podcast. Some time mid afternoon before the peak hour picks up, I drive back.
I think this habit developed when I was back in university. It was a bit of a sad story but I couldn't fit in well during my first year (got better in my 2nd & last year). I got used to doing things by myself though. The good thing about it is you get to learn more about yourself - what you like, what you dislike etc without the bias of your other peers. It's a great way into self-development too and that's also how I got into it in the first place, albeit very slowly.
Alone =/= lonely. I used to be embarrassed about what other people would think of me having a meal myself for example, but I'm so used to it now I never think twice about it. It comes naturally.
So - spend more time by yourself! Go to the movies alone! Have a meal alone! It's an experience that everyone should try.
