Happy June, everyone!

Not so happy for Malaysians, because we just got put into another high-level full lockdown this month. The majority of the sectors are closed, only the essentials are open, and everyone is back to working from home again. I'm one of the privileged ones because nothing much changes for me, but I still worry about my mental health, like everyone else. June will be a slower month, so I don't lose my mind 🙂 And also my vax shot is coming up soon - this Friday! So I'm definitely going to spend the weekend mostly recuperating.

My focus will be writing and publishing more. That sounds vague so here's my plan:
  • Publish 1 Twitter thread every Thursday
  • Publish 1 blog post every month (if possible, 2 every month!)

Starting small. Then I'll possibly work my way up to 2 blog posts in a month.

For this to happen, I also need to clean up my note-taking/making system. Instead of plucking ideas out of thin air to write about (which will probably take longer), this is where your notes come in to help. Once you have this system in place, it'll help you consistently generate ideas for your writing.

Of course, creating your note-taking system itself takes up time too, but think of it this way - would you rather work on taking and making better notes every day or cram everything the last minute into a post. I realise by writing this out, a LOT of people might actually prefer the latter. It's similar to studying right - do incremental studying every day before the exam or cram it all in one night before the exam. Ultimately, whatever works for you!

I haven't put much thought into this yet, so it'll probably be on a separate 100-word post instead. But what I do know is that I want to remember things better, think more critically, and get better at writing. And I think this system is the best way that can get me there.
