Sundays are for reflecting the past week and planning the week ahead.
Because of this, Sundays have been more bearable. I don't feel the Monday blues as much as I used to. I still do, but it bothers me lesser now.
How does it help?
Why does reflecting on the past week help?
I don't write full paragraphs about the week. You don't need to for journaling. I use the plus minus journaling coined by Anne Laure. By doing so, I list down my wins of the week or things that brought me joy. It gives me something to be thankful for. But of course, there are some downsides of the week to which I'll list under the minus column. Finally, is there anything I learned that I will be applying moving forward? I'll also list them down for future use.
Why does planning the week ahead help?
I want to get an overview of what's happening for the week ahead. I'm going to be busy throughout the day with my full-time job. By the end of the day, I'll be tired and I don't want to figure what I'll be doing at night. I could rest and relax. I could consume media all night long. But I rather time block it than spend the whole night at it. I wish I was more spontaneous but not yet. I don't like being caught off guard. So till then, I'll work with what's on my calendar. Don't worry I leave breathing spaces, so I don't get overwhelming. I work with the top three things I need to do each day. If I can achieve that, I'll be happy already.
