I like to learn something new at my own pace.

But it's a bit of a different story when it comes to learning something new for work. I was put to build a dashboard on Mixpanel for our product at work.

On top of the existing work that I have so far (e.g. customer support, replying to people, investigating and reviewing tickets etc), I'm not good at setting expectations for myself because I tend to overthink and over-worry that I won't be able to accomplish it on time, especially building something that's usable.

But once I started to learn (thanks Mixpanel tutorials) and slowly build the dashboard up, it doesn't seem all that bad. Once you get over the hurdle of overthinking by taking action, the obstacle - that you once thought was not possible or too difficult - is pretty doable.

Write down the tasks and break them down into pieces. Then do them one step at a time. Cross them off. Just do. Don't overthink. Sometimes I still overthink these things, but when I finally remind myself about it — ah yeah it isn't so bad after all.
