I used to have another blog that I'd been using since high school until my very early career days, but the email I used was lost and I don't know how to recover it. That's a separate topic. A sad one that I've been trying to recover for years. Anyway...

It's been years since I wrote on a blog. But in my previous blog, it was mainly blogging about movie reviews, places I've been, music events I attended, and other random things.

This year onwards I'm taking writing more seriously now to improve my writing skills. I started off with using reading.supply as my blog base, and with two posts — a 2020 reflection and a Q1 review for 2021. The platform is very minimalistic platform and I like how I can focus on writing without getting too distracted. The problem came recently when I encountered several error 500 problems whenever I tried to save and publish my post. It turned out that some of the images I used were too large but I didn't realise that until the reading.supply team reached out to me.

I took that as a sign that I shouldn't be relying on an external platform and should try to host it elsewhere. I settled with Notion because most of my writings are already on it, and I used MDX.one to turn my Notion page easily to a blog. I'm still relying on another platform, but at least I don't have to worry about having one too many platforms. It's a step.

Look forward to a new blog post every month! Two posts a month if I have to write a quarterly or yearly review too. I recently also published a new blog post about why meditation doesn't work together with migrating to my new blog. So there's that. Happy with the decision.
