I didn't think I'd spend almost the entire day prioritising and cleaning up our team's tickets and backlog for the next sprint.

I think part of the reason it takes some time is because there's a lot of context switching. You'd look at one task, and then another, and another. It goes on the whole afternoon. Some relate to each to each other, but most of them are different. I kid you not that by 5pm I can't focus anymore. My brain fried up. Every time I try to force myself to look at another ticket, I am unable to at all.

I do know that once I create a new ticket, I should already prioritise and polish it up there and then, rather than waiting until the end of the current sprint. But there are bazillion other things that require my immediate attention so I tend to just... leave them there until later. When it's time to sort out the priorities, it gets overwhelming.

I have to change the way I do things. We can be blindsided by short term goals and gains, but it'll help the future me in the long run better. It's a tough balance.
