Day 80 - Generalists

What was initially supposed to be a 30-minute call suddenly turned into a 3-hour call with one of my Twitter friends - Sumin.

We talked about a lot of things, but I think what stood out was that we're both generalists. More so on her side, because she came from a design background, now studying data, planning to become a product manager. She wants to start a business one day, but in future (we didn't really talk about this but she's mentioned this before in our DMs) she wanted to be in healthcare.

While on my side, I want to just be learning a lot of things and not wanting to stick to something forever. I can't see myself working on something specific for too long.

That's not to say I want to be changing careers every year or so. Maybe it's the fact that I can't find something that I truly enjoy. And that's why I want to pick up something new for a few years before I move on to something else. Maybe one day I might find something I really enjoy, and I don't plan on changing that at all. Or maybe not. I don't think I'm that worried about that (yet?). So for now, I'm a generalist.
