As I mentioned in my previous post... It was house chores day. We slept pretty late, so we only started doing the chores around 10 in the morning. Up to this day, I mostly do chores in silent. It helps me to be more present with the tasks at hand, but at the same time I want to get it done as soon as possible so I can finish them ASAP. This morning I decided maybe it's a good time to listen to some podcasts, and so I did. The chores became much more bearable like that.
Then we had lunch. An hour break on Twitter. A call with someone local, also in the building scene. Grocery shopping. Rest, take a nap. Run and work out. Dinner. Then finally some time catching up on whatever's online.
It's the first time in a while when I went almost a day away from staring at my devices until the evening. It's crazy how so many of us are attached to our devices, almost every waking moment. And it's crazy how I felt that this mini digital detox was liberating, but I quickly resumed my digital usage soon after in the evening. At least most of the time I don't mindlessly abuse my time on the internet. At least I like to think that I'm a bit more conscious of what I'm using it for compared to many others, so it's somewhat justifiable.
I should try this digital detox every week or so. Might calm my monkey brain down a bit more.
